Evening high school in Turku

Evening high school (Turun iltalukio) is upper secondary education   
school for grown-ups, where you can finish basic education studies for classes
7 to 9, if you dropped out. You can also improve your basic education grades, i.e. take 10th grade. In evening high school you can get upper secondary education with certificate, matriculation examination or separate courses in any subject. Studying subjects costs 80 euros per year. Other education is free of charge. In addition to contact teaching you can choose between distance education, education via Internet or combinations of these systems.

Entrance requirements: In order to get in the high school you must be 18 years of age, for basic education the age limit is 16 years. There is no upper age limit, no limits for average grades, nor any other requirements.

You can enrol in Turun iltalukio any time during the school year, whenever the school office is open. You will start your studies when the next study unit begins. Bring with you your latest school report / certificate and a passport photograph.

Education for immigrants
Immigrants over 16 years of age can take basic education studies or the 10th grade. There is a group for non-Finnish speaking young people, also for those, who don’t speak any Finnish.  Finnish for foreigners – education is offered for immigrants, who will not get Finnish lessons any other way. Education is free of charge.
